
All of our organic and non-GM soy seed varieties are developed through natural genetic selection techniques. US Soy has worked with major universities to develop our soy genetics through natural breeding programs, and holds exclusive rights to these unique genetic fingerprints. Neither the seeds, nor the harvested soybeans, have any genetically modified materials of any kind.
We have developed variety traits that express unique characteristics, providing added benefits to the soy ingredients we produce. They are all food grade, clear hilum beans that are bred to minimize the typical "beany" soy taste. As a result, they have minimal flavor impact in processed products like soy flour. The varieties used for roasting are bred to provide a nutlike crunchiness as well as a light golden color and pleasing flavor after roasting.
Ensuring the continued integrity of non-genetically modified and organic soybeans is an ongoing and intricate challenge. All US Soy seed varieties are certified by the Illinois Crop Improvement Association (ICIA). Additionally, seeds are thoroughly tested for suitability by both US Soy and an independent third-party tester. US Soy is a certified seed supplier and a member of AOSCA (The Association of Official Seed Certifying Agencies) an International network of agricultural service organizations. The US Soy inspection and testing systems are the most sophisticated and refined in the United States.
